About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our Clinicals product team within our Patient Record and Insights organization. Our team builds code that matters, working on doctors' workflows that are used by over 100,000 healthcare providers daily. This team is innovative, passionate, and driven by our mission to help make an impact. We develop workflows that prioritize the doctor/patient interactions and give doctors more time doing what attracted many to medicine in the first place: providing patient care. As an engineer on the athenaClinicals Patient Record and Insights team, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of product components and workflows used by doctors and clinicians, such as medical history documentation, patient risk management, coordination of patient care, and workflows to help providers prepare for patient visits in ambulatory settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, design and develop code on an agile team of Engineers, a Scrum Master, a Product Owner, and Experience Designer
  • Collaborate, mentor and advise team members to promote productivity and effectiveness; share business and technical insights with the broader engineering and product organization
  • Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert. Take ownership of what the team builds and coordinate efforts across the teams to ensure proper completion

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience with significant product development expertise
  • Proficient in at least one modern programming language
  • Experience with relational databases and modern UI frameworks is helpful
  • Familiarity working in Agile methodologies and CI/CD
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux, SQL, RESTful API, Java, and AI is helpful

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI
  • Knowledge of Java
  • Experience working in cloud environments (public and private)
