Job Description

About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with an expertise in Test Automation to join our Global Payments and Liquidity Technology team within Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT). In this role, you will focus on automation scripting related to applications that enable critical payments and wires technology, acting as a mentor and subject matter expert for the automation and quality assurance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve test coverage and efficiency through automation.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for test automation.
  • Promote a positive team atmosphere by building trust with peers and prioritizing needs of the team.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, QA analysts, product managers, and integration partners to build reusable components and enhance the automation suite for faster test delivery.
  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges.
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Test Automation.
  • 5+ years of experience using Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  • 5+ years of experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies, utilizing tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, and Confluence.
  • 5+ years of experience with test automation frameworks and tools including Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, and TestNG.
  • 5+ years of experience in API testing and validation using tools like Postman and RestAssured, particularly in the context of payment systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems.
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledgeable in payment messaging standards such as ISO 8583 and ISO 20022.
  • Proficient in .NET C#, with strong expertise in ASP.NET WebAPI.
  • Over 3 years of hands-on experience with relational database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
  • Solid understanding of Agile development practices, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or comparable generative AI development tools.
  • Skilled in Test-Driven Development (TDD), including unit, integration, API, performance, and functional testing.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrates high levels of responsibility, initiative, and accountability.
  • Fast learner with a passion for exploring new and emerging technologies.
  • Proficient in evaluating and integrating new tools and technologies to enhance productivity.
