About the Role

The position of Quality Assurance Specialist (Deployable) involves designing, implementing, and maintaining a risk-based surveillance program and assessment plan related to the quality assurance provisions of contracts. The role supports the U.S. Government's acquisition efforts by ensuring contractor compliance with design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization requirements. The specialist provides technical support to the DCMA team, analyzes contractual issues, and investigates customer complaints to improve quality performance across diverse products and services, often in a deployable, overseas environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain a risk-based surveillance program and assessment plan associated with contract quality assurance provisions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements by analyzing data.
  • Implement the overall Quality Program for diverse products and services to support the U.S. Government's acquisition at supplier facilities.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization requirements.
  • Independently audit and survey contractor processes to ensure compliance with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Investigate customer complaints and concerns regarding contractor quality performance and processes impacting user satisfaction, and provide data about the complaints.
  • Provide technical support to DCMA team members, assisting with analyzing contractual issues and determining the best course of action.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid state driver's license.
  • Security clearance: Noncritical-Sensitive with Secret Access.
  • Ability to obtain a passport/VISA.
  • Pass a medical/dental examination, including a pre-employment exam and annual physicals, with a lifting requirement of 45 pounds.
  • Meet immunization requirements (e.g., Anthrax, Smallpox, Malaria, COVID) and meet medical criteria for deployment per USCENTCOM policies.
  • Complete a DoD Civilian Employee Overseas Emergency Essential Position Agreement.
  • Maintain a Government Travel Card.
  • Be exempt from recall to the military Reserves.
  • Complete a favorable suitability or fitness determination; pass background checks.
  • Register for or be exempt from the Selective Service if male born after 12-31-59.
  • Have one year of specialized experience in applying quality assurance concepts, evaluating contractor processes, and analyzing quality data, or possess relevant education or a combination thereof.
  • Possess at least 3 full academic years of graduate education in related fields or an equivalent doctoral degree, if qualifying via education.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with quality assurance concepts, principles, methods, and practices.
  • Knowledge of statistical and quality data analysis techniques.
  • Experience in evaluating production methods, processes, and testing techniques.

Qualifications

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 level in quality assurance or related fields.
  • OR successful completion of 3 full academic years of graduate education in quality assurance, statistics, engineering, or related fields.
  • OR a combination of experience and education that meets the qualification standards.
