About the Role

This position is remote and candidates must be close to our Orange County, CA office. Large law firm seeks a highly experienced Litigation Support Project Manager to oversee eDiscovery, litigation support and practice management technologies for complex legal matters. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, customer service, and legal process understanding. This position requires a proactive, problem-solving approach, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex legal and technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the comprehensive management of all phases of litigation support and eDiscovery projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between legal teams, clients, co-counsel and external and internal service providers.
  • Provide strategic oversight, coordination, training, and ongoing maintenance of the firm's portfolio of litigation support and practice management technologies.
  • Assist with the identification, selection, testing and implementation of new litigation support and practice management technologies, particularly as it may involve the incorporation of artificial intelligence.
  • Assist with the development of the yearly litigation support budget.
  • Handle all aspects of document/ESI processing, hosting and production, including assisting with the identification of responsive data.
  • Coordinate activities such as hosting platform administration, data processing, loading, quality control and productions.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and retrieval of legal documents and data, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee the forensic collection of documents/ESI in conjunction with internal and external collection experts.
  • Consult with case teams and clients to develop, define and execute comprehensive eDiscovery strategies, project plans, and workflows.
  • Assist legal teams and clients with data culling, filtering, and keyword strategies; implement TAR, advanced analytics, and review workflows.
  • Collaborate with case teams to develop, track, and monitor eDiscovery budgets, fees, and costs.
  • Assess, select, and manage external eDiscovery and review service providers, including evaluating proposals and overseeing vendor performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to eDiscovery, litigation support and practice management platforms.
  • Manage litigation support data repositories.
  • Provide hands-on consultation and training on eDiscovery software and litigation support technologies.
  • Work closely with the Litigation Support team, case teams, IT department and firm departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, legal developments, case law and new technologies relevant to eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Contribute to the development of firm-wide eDiscovery and litigation support best practices, policies, and training programs.
  • Create operational manuals, templates, and reference materials; assist with professional development and mentorship of junior staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of projects and work assignments.
  • Ensure all activities comply with data protection laws, firm policies, and data security protocols.
  • Offer periodic after-hours support and coordinate project coverage during non-standard hours.
  • Communicate professionally via phone, email, and in person; maintain a neat and orderly workplace.
  • Keep supervisor informed of issues and potential problems; seek advice as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures while performing duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in computer science or related discipline; or five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years' experience managing litigation support and practice management technology and eDiscovery projects, preferably in a law firm.
  • Expert-level proficiency with eDiscovery review platforms, especially Relativity (RCA highly preferred), and strong understanding of backend functionality.
  • Proficiency with other legal litigation support and practice management applications.
  • Knowledge of legal artificial intelligence technologies, social media collection and docketing solutions highly preferable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary range of $117,074.00 to $175,611.00 annually, based on skills, experience, and other factors.
