National Grid is hiring a Manager - Operations Customer Project Management (OCPM) - for our Electric Operations Services department covering the entire Massachusetts territory. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team's overall project performance, including monitoring compliance with schedule, cycle times, and customer satisfaction.
  • Take ownership of customer satisfaction performance by monitoring key metrics, implementing improvement strategies, and ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • Act as an escalation path for high-profile or challenging projects and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders across various organizational units.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, formal quarterly reviews, and end-of-year performance reviews with team members.
  • Carry out hiring, orientation, training, mentoring, and development needs of the project management team.
  • Ensure team maintains reporting cadence for all project stakeholder reports and updates.
  • Identify capital efficiency and cost-reduction efforts by reviewing projects and championing efforts with the team.
  • Foster a team environment that prioritizes collaboration with customers and stakeholders to meet and exceed their needs and expectations.
  • Maintain knowledge of project management processes, contract management processes, organizational structure, and other discipline processes.
  • Create a team environment focused on process improvement identification and implementation.
  • Facilitate and champion the introduction and implementation of new technologies, innovative solutions, and process changes to improve project delivery safely, on time, and in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in electric operations engineering, project management, utility construction, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area desired; candidates with non-related degrees plus significant relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong grasp of project management concepts.
  • Proven success in leading and prioritizing customer relationship management.
  • Experience working in a matrix organizational structure and processes.
  • Preference given to candidates with a Professional Engineering license and/or Certified Project Management Professional.
  • Ability to create a high-energy team climate with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving history meeting National Grid's Safe Driver policy.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in engineering discipline, MBA, or relevant equivalent.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Professional Engineering license and/or Certified Project Management Professional preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
