About the Role

The Manager- Customer Targeting & Eligibility List Consultant is part of the Enterprise Customer Engagement Solutions (ECES) team within American Express, supporting the US Marketing organization. The role involves partnering with marketing on customer targeting and eligibility strategies for marketing campaigns, providing expertise on data and process improvements, and ensuring accurate and compliant customer list execution. The position offers opportunities for professional growth, training, and contributing to innovative marketing solutions within a company built on a long history of innovation and shared values.

Key Responsibilities

Provide consultation to marketing on customer targeting & eligibility for benefit reinforcement and spend campaigns targeted to Consumer and Commercial customers, including research on new data elements, reviewing segmentation, and assisting with request submissions.
Review all list request submissions for accuracy, finalize with marketing, and give clear instructions to the list execution team for coding and file creation.
Provide subject matter expertise to platform transformation team and participate in testing and campaign migration to new platforms.
Troubleshoot and research data anomalies or customer complaints.
Identify process efficiencies and opportunities to simplify or reduce the number of list requests from marketing.
Train marketers on targeting processes.

Requirements

College Degree
Understanding/experience with marketing operations
Experience working with data and marketing platforms (e.g., Unica, Redpoint, Adobe, Salesforce)
Highly organized, able to prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong relationship and communication skills, able to explain complex/technical concepts in layman's terms
Control and compliance mindset
Big data platform/programming experience (Hive, PySpark SQL, etc.) is a plus
