Manager, Data Engineering

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, configuring, deploying, optimizing, documenting, and maintaining Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Azure Cloud services.
• Managing data storage and data processing workloads in a cloud ecosystem, including enhancements and optimization.
• Monitoring infrastructure services on Cloud leveraging logging and alerting.
• Implementing security measures such as Identity Access Management (IAM) for Cloud assets.
• Executing on-premises to cloud-based infrastructure migrations.
• Supporting and optimizing GCP services to meet expected SLAs.
• Participating as a Cloud engineering team member in an agile environment, including supporting story creation, technical documentation, and scrum activities.
• Partnering with technical leaders to define and implement optimal Cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Reviewing code solutions and providing peer feedback with a focus on best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 72 months of progressive, post-Bachelor's experience in a related occupation.
• Experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions on GCP, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience deploying Cloud infrastructure solutions in a data analytics ecosystem including ETL, BI, and Data governance platforms.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Dataproc, Composer, Dataflow, Cloud Build, Functions, Scheduler, PubSub.
• Experience with Cloud Containerization technologies/services like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Experience with capacity management, autoscaling, and disaster recovery management of Cloud platforms or applications.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure Cloud services.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Experience with logging, alerting, and monitoring tools in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in data engineering or cloud infrastructure
