Manager, Data Engineering (Remote)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing data engineering and application development team, providing project leadership using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Attract, develop, engage, and align employees by setting clear goals, establishing expectations, and delivering performance feedback.
• Assess the financial impact of current initiatives and evaluate new opportunities for value creation.
• Collaborate with enterprise partners to leverage domain expertise, integrate capabilities, and identify new data solutions.
• Drive change management efforts, guiding teams through transformation and overcoming business resistance.
• Facilitate conversations with stakeholders and data engineers to identify opportunities for data engineering and architecture to solve business challenges.
• Mentor team members to support professional growth and technical skill development.
• Serve as a technical expert in selecting and applying data engineering methods, tools, and technologies.
• Communicate complex technical topics effectively to senior leadership and non-technical audiences.
• Diagnose and resolve complex data engineering issues to ensure reliability, quality, and scalability of solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8+ years of work experience in a data-related role.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience leading end-to-end data engineering and architecture projects, including data modeling and storage design.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Spark, with the ability to optimize data workflows and pipelines.
• Experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development and data architecture, including data lake and data warehouse environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Experience with Power BI and integrating data into dashboards and analytics solutions.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree.
• Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including PowerApps and Power Automate.
• Certifications in Azure.

Qualifications

• Formal educational background includes a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred).
• Relevant professional experience in data engineering and leadership roles.

• Salary range of $129,600.00 - $220,400.00 plus bonus eligibility and benefits.
