About the Role

The Manager - IAM - IS Mod at Mayo Clinic is responsible for guiding the execution of their team's strategy, overseeing service delivery, maintaining quality, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. This role involves assisting division leadership in establishing strategic directions, overseeing process and tool enhancements, analyzing business and system information, and evaluating security implications across Mayo Clinic's various business areas. The position is remote, with occasional travel, and requires leadership in security and information technology within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide execution of all aspects of their team's strategy, service delivery, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Assist division leadership in establishing strategic direction for work teams or service lines.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of new or improved processes and tools.
  • Discover and analyze business or system information to inform decision-making.
  • Identify and evaluate security and solution implications across multiple Mayo Clinic business areas.
  • Supervise the daily activities of senior analysts and analysts, managing workload and resources to meet budgets and milestones.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external vendors, auditors, regulators, and management across Mayo sites.
  • Serve as a strategic resource, providing awareness of internal and external environment issues, trends, and security best practices.
  • Participate in communication with Mayo Clinic Security Council, Medical Device Oversight Subcommittee, and other workgroups or committees.
  • Contribute to recruitment, coaching, and development of department team members.
  • Promote team spirit, open dialogue, and foster ideas and talents within the team.
  • Travel up to 20-25% as required by work activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in areas such as Information Security, IT, project management, audit, compliance, or related functions (or 8 years with relevant Master's degree).
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, projects, or providing strategic direction.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to handle ambiguous situations and navigate political/cultural environments.
  • Knowledge of security concepts, project management methodologies, and healthcare security regulations.
  • Must have one of the following certifications at time of hire: CISSP, CISM, HCISPP, GSEC, OSCP, or equivalent.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile development and SAFe frameworks.
  • Experience leading development teams and implementing DevSecOps.
  • Strong technical aptitude for designing and supporting highly available systems.
  • Experience with cloud computing, big data, machine learning, and data science.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and full software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, HCISPP, GSEC, OSCP, or equivalent.
