About the Role

As part of Bayer's commitment to delivering innovative solutions in consumer health, the Manager Shopper Based Design-Category Advisor will actively participate in business planning, focusing on category management strategies and initiatives. The role involves leading a team in developing health and wellness solutions for key retailers, identifying customer and channel insights, developing category plans, influencing planograms, and supporting new opportunities through data analysis. The position emphasizes driving business growth through insights, strategic planning, and team development within Bayer's consumer health division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the continuous business planning process, focusing on category management strategies and initiatives
  • Plan, develop, and conduct platform presentations
  • Lead the team in adapting, and executing health and wellness solutions with a focus on key retailers
  • Drive ongoing identification of customer and channel shopper insight issues and opportunities
  • Identify business opportunities based on retailer and shopper insights
  • Lead the development of category plans and influence and draw planograms
  • Utilize customer POS data, syndicated data, and industry information for new opportunities
  • Conduct ongoing category reviews and analyses
  • Monitor and track competitive activity and new item performance
  • Develop a high-performing team, providing coaching and mentoring

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience; MBA desirable
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Category Management, Sales, Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing, or Shopper Research in the consumer packaged goods industry
  • Experience supporting or leading a Walmart Category Advisorship
  • Must reside in the Northwest Arkansas Market
  • Clear understanding of syndicated, panel, and retailer data (e.g., Scintilla, IRI, Numerator)
  • Strong working knowledge of the category management process
  • Ability to manage personnel through multi-task functions and multiple projects

Nice to Have

  • 2-4 years of Field/HQ Category Management or Customer Marketing or Sales Strategy experience
  • Exposure to all trade classes
  • Excellent financial management skills to assess programs and cost investments versus results
  • Superior analytical ability with an understanding of impact
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to encourage innovation and risk-taking
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortability with digital programs and platforms, including MS Office skills
  • Thorough knowledge of digital strategy development, channels, and measurement/analytics

Qualifications

  • Educational background including a BS/BA degree or equivalent; MBA desirable

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary between $123,148.00 - $184,722.00
  • Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive
