About the Role

LMCU is looking for a Marketing Designer II who will be responsible for the design and production of marketing and advertising materials that meet marketing objectives staying within Lake Michigan Credit Union's brand standards. Collaborating closely with a diverse team in the design of strategic, big picture creative executions across a variety of consumer touchpoints including print, TV, radio, social, digital, retail, outdoor and internal branded collateral. He/she will be responsible for design, art direction, photo shoots and creative development from brief to final execution. Works closely with the SVP of Marketing, Marketing Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Creative Director, Art Director, Account Executives, Copywriters, Media Buyers, fellow designers, and business clients to develop and deliver outstanding creative content in a deadline driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bring marketing briefs to life through designing and producing marketing materials in a variety of platforms, including print, digital and environmental executions.
  • Creating design mock-ups and layouts for presentations.
  • Conceptualization and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Work on the production and design needs related to in-house business lines as well as advertising campaigns.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects to ensure they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional partners within the marketing team and other internal business groups to find creative solutions that effectively deliver results driven marketing and advertising collateral.
  • Adhere to Lake Michigan Credit Union's brand standards guidelines while managing the brand standards and advocating for LMCU's brand, internally and externally.
  • Provide design expertise while ensuring the business unit's priorities and marketing goals are met.
  • Research credit union and financial industry data to stay current on relevant trends.
  • Develop a competitive database to understand strengths, weaknesses, points of differentiation, and opportunities to differentiate in the marketplace.
  • Present creative concepts clearly and persuasively to stakeholders using storytelling and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience in design and/or art direction.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, art direction, advertising or related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and design principles.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a financial or credit union industry is a plus.
  • Additional familiarity with environmental or retail marketing design.

Qualifications

  • Experience in design and/or art direction (3-5 years).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
