The company is seeking a Marketing Director for Viasat Energy Services to lead marketing strategy and execution, focusing on providing advanced communication and information technology solutions to the Oil & Gas industry, enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and connectivity for remote offshore energy assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a fully integrated marketing and communications plan aligned with objectives set by the Energy Services Business Development teams and VCS Marketing team.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and increase market share.
  • Establish KPIs and complete evaluation/reporting after each project to measure effectiveness.
  • Leverage market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes, and use insights to inform strategy development.
  • Create detailed tactical plans that outline key deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure marketing planning is integrated with business development strategies to maximize impact.
  • Leverage online channels such as social media, search engines, and email to promote products, services, and brands.
  • Create and manage comprehensive marketing campaigns, analyze data to gain insights, and optimize strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver high-quality, audience-centric marketing materials for the Energy Services business line.
  • Generate materials such as case studies, brochures, presentations, press releases, articles, videos, and infographics to promote the service portfolio.
  • Support the development of value propositions for new products/features from conception through launch and beyond.
  • Collaborate with external partners to provide marketing support and sales enablement materials.
  • Develop and refine product positioning and messaging to communicate value and benefits.
  • Create go-to-market plans for new and existing products, including launch timelines, naming, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Create and deliver sales tools and training materials to assist the sales team.
  • Track and report on marketing metrics such as lead generation, conversion rates, and customer engagement.
  • Develop and lead customer engagement programs like webinars, events, and workshops.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear marketing messages and sales pitches.
  • Stay current with advancements in communication technology and incorporate this knowledge into strategies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing and sales, ideally within highly technical/complex product marketing for communication services.
  • Demonstrable marketing generalist experience across product, channel, digital, social media, content creation, advertising, and agencies, with deeper experience in one or more areas.
  • Proven organizational and project delivery experience, with a history of multi-tasking and working under pressure.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills to manage people and balance the needs of Energy Services against available resources.
  • High degree of literacy and first-class written communication skills.
  • Budget and time management skills.
  • Solid experience working with external agencies and suppliers.
  • Must be a self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of the offshore oil and gas industry, including key communication technologies, platforms, and systems.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling marketing and sales strategies.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary range $143,000.00 - $225,500.00 annually.
  • For specific locations within San Jose, San Francisco Bay area, and New York City, the base pay range is $177,500.00 - $266,500.00 annually.
  • Additional cash or stock incentives.
