About the Role

The Markets Product Support Senior Specialist will support the FEWS NET 8 Knowledge Base project, which aims to create and update a comprehensive knowledge base about livelihood zones and market systems to improve early warning analyses of food insecurity worldwide. The role involves working remotely from DC, supporting report production, ensuring compliance with branding and accessibility standards, managing product development processes, liaising with partners and subcontractors, and supporting project communications and dissemination activities within the broader FEWS NET team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the product development cycle of custom livelihood zone-specific products and inputs in line with program strategy and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate overall project communications.
  • Contribute to the preparation of consistent, quality markets reports and other products.
  • Publish reports and other deliverables per FEWS NET branding and marking requirements.
  • Review reports, products, deliverables and other communications ensuring style consistency, adherence to branding and Section 508 compliance.
  • Support the preparation of training and guidance materials with input from senior staff.
  • Support communications and dissemination of reports and data submission activities.
  • Liaise and collaborate across all FEWS NET programs to support market fundamentals products, provide feedback, and establish common naming conventions.
  • Liaise with the Learning and Data Hub to ensure submission of relevant data sets and reports.
  • Ensure timely uploading of deliverables to the Development Experience Clearinghouse and the Development Data Library.
  • Provide updates to USG clients on implementation progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Manage and coordinate with subcontractors and partners for product development.
  • Manage markets editor and support map production.
  • Lead the documentation of processes and approaches.
  • Supervise the product development process.
  • Support in-country validation processes with partners.
  • Collaborate on developing training materials for presentation on the FEWS NET exchange.
  • Develop informational blogs with Chemonics communications department and/or the Hub.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the COP or DCOP-Market Fundamentals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience and experience leading teams; 3 years preferred.
  • Experience managing or coordinating a team or initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor with ability to work with diverse professionals across multiple geographies.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems and Office suite, including Excel.
  • Experience with Section 508 remediation preferred.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and well-organized in delivering responsibilities on time and of high quality.
  • Capacity to address issues proactively and assertively, independently and with team support.
  • Experience working with graphic design and data processing software (Publisher, Indesign, ArcGis, Adobe suite) preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in French, Portuguese, Spanish, and/or Arabic preferred.
