About the Role

The Caring Place (@Miami Rescue Mission & Broward Outreach Centers) is a leading provider of services to the homeless and needy of South Florida. They offer emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional and permanent housing, employment opportunities, and programs for at-risk youth. The organization is seeking a full-time Media Assistant at their Miami Central Office to support their media and communications strategies, including event coverage, social media support, media outreach, and content management, with a focus on assisting the Media Manager and supporting the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with photographing and filming events and outreaches
Support the Media Manager with social media tasks such as caption writing, post scheduling, organizing content, KPI tracking, trends, and content creation
Help manage and organize digital photo/video folders and media libraries
Assist with distributing media alerts, press releases, and newsletters
Perform general administrative tasks for the Media team, including calendar support, scheduling, and file management
Contribute to the planning and execution of media campaigns
Assist with the organization of offices, files, computer folders, and outlook calendars
Assist with execution of company-sponsored events and outreaches to support residents
Participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities
Support the organization during outreach events such as graduations and community events
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Requires a High School diploma or GED
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a non-profit organization or general office setting
At least one (1) year of experience in media, marketing, digital content, or communications
Basic photo/video editing skills preferred (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools)
Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact professionally and courteously with staff, vendors, volunteers, supporters, and residents
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks
High level of accuracy and confidentiality
Ability to work independently and collaboratively under deadlines

Nice to Have

Basic photo/video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools)

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED
Experience in media, marketing, digital content, or communications
Experience with photo/video editing tools (preferred)
