About the Role

We are seeking a part-time, independent consultant to support our member engagement and communication efforts at NERSC, Inc. The role involves managing social media channels, responding to member inquiries, processing membership renewals, and assisting with registration for our annual conference. NERSC Inc. has existed for over twenty five years supporting the training and networking of Service Coordinators working with seniors and families across the nation. This position offers flexibility and opportunities to grow social media experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a social media strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram).
  • Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages, and analyze performance metrics.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for member inquiries via email and social media.
  • Provide timely and professional responses to questions about membership, benefits, events, and general inquiries.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure accurate and consistent messaging.
  • Answer phone calls for the organization sent to mobile through the Mint company, follow-up with voice mails and pass onto appropriate team members.
  • Serve as the host for online virtual meetings including managing attendees, recording, muting, and breakout rooms.
  • Track and process membership renewals, new member registrations, and payments.
  • Maintain and update member records in the organization’s database.
  • Send reminders and follow-ups regarding renewals and upcoming events.
  • Assist with the registration process for the annual conference, troubleshoot issues, and answer attendee questions.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Events to support conference-related communications and logistics.
  • Attend and support the annual conference on-site (travel required).

Requirements

  • Training and/or previous work experience managing social media and/or community engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand different audiences and their challenges.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Constant Contact, Mail Chimp) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
