The role of NAM Market Development Manager involves overseeing market development activities, supporting the Regional Sales organization, and driving growth in the North American Emergency Lighting market within the Electrification Business Area. The position contributes to expanding business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and supporting major projects in the division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee market development activities and support the Regional Sales organization in driving revenue for the Electrification Business Area.
  • Develop new business opportunities targeting lighting agents, national distributors, lighting OEMs, and strategic end users in North America.
  • Drive growth in market share for ABB's EML business by developing strategic business opportunities and partnerships, and supporting major projects.
  • Ensure strategies and business plans align with the division's overall strategy to achieve targets by defining KPI targets for existing and new products in collaboration with marketing.
  • Oversee implementation of cross-divisional, product group, and regional initiatives, supporting product launches and customer events as needed.
  • Identify strategic end user customers and promote adoption of Emergency Lighting solutions across their portfolios.
  • Expand ABB's presence into complementary product lines and develop new growth opportunities through lighting OEM channels.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence on current conditions, customer needs, and competitive data, focusing on distribution, third-party sales agents, and end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 10 years experience, or Associate's Degree with minimum 12 years experience, or High School Diploma with minimum 14 years experience.
  • Must have C-Suite presentation experience, sales management, territory management, and advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with sales calls across all regions and brands, trade show participation, quotes process for segment (central systems), order quote tracking and conversion by brand, project bidding, agent training, and customer training.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
