Job Description

About the Role

The Omni-Channel Planner for the Men's Bags category at TUMI will play an instrumental role in driving the evolution of North America Merchandise Planning & Allocation. The role involves collaborating with merchant partners to manage financial planning and inventory, influencing merchandising, pricing, and allocation strategies, and supporting process improvements including the implementation of an AI-enabled planning system. This is a hybrid role with on-site and remote work components, contributing to a global luxury brand committed to innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the creation and management of the Men's Bags financial plan (sales, margin, inventory) from category to SKU level.
  • Analyzes key data points such as historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and sell-thru to inform forecasts.
  • Integrates assortment, marketing, promotional, and merchandising strategies into the financial plan.
  • Partners with Central Planning and leadership to align financial plans with overall company strategies and goals.
  • Monitors actual performance against the plan and reforecasts regularly, adjusting for trends and key changes.
  • Surfaces implications and opportunities based on performance analysis.
  • Manages Men's Bags inventory, ensuring appropriate purchase levels to support sales plans.
  • Minimizes inventory risk while considering store minimums and other constraints.
  • Collaborates with Sourcing and Allocation to ensure inventory is in the right location at the right time.
  • Partners with Wholesale Planning to meet wholesale needs and drive business growth.
  • Monitors inventory position and identifies opportunities to reduce liability and improve turnover.
  • Plans and executes markdowns and promotional activities across channels.
  • Collaborates with Merchandising, Product Management, and other teams on product strategies and assortment.
  • Conducts SKU productivity analyses and applies insights to future planning.
  • Works with Visual Merchandising, eCommerce, and Marketing teams to shape their strategies.
  • Delivers actionable insights through thorough analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Supports ad hoc projects to improve business performance and team capabilities, leveraging best practices.
  • Participates in process design sessions, performs analyses, conducts tests, and provides training and feedback for the implementation of an integrated planning system.

Requirements

  • Experience in merchandise planning, allocation, or related roles within retail or luxury brands.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Experience with inventory management and financial planning at SKU level.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Merchandising, Sourcing, and Marketing.
  • Proficiency in planning systems and tools, with a focus on process improvement and system implementation.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills to work with leadership and various departments.
  • Ability to adapt to a hybrid work environment and support change management initiatives.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-enabled planning systems or similar technological implementations.
  • Knowledge of the luxury retail or travel goods industry.
  • Experience working in a global or multi-channel retail environment.
