Oncology (Precision Medicine) Business Specialist - Houston S, TX

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Call on targeted physicians and oncology centers to promote and educate on the use of Astellas products through one-on-one meetings, presentations, professional education programs, and other means.
• Ensure high levels of call and field productivity, meeting call plan expectations with five days in the field each week, supported by office time for planning, follow-up, and preparing presentations.
• Develop sales plans and territory business activities to support customers using company resources and promotional activities as directed by the Oncology Regional Business Manager (ORBM).
• Utilize clinical knowledge to influence prescribing habits.
• Coordinate promotional efforts with peers across franchises.
• Achieve quarterly sales goals within the territory while adhering to all ethical sales practices and regulations.
• Deliver clinical and technical value to healthcare customers to meet patient care needs within regulatory guidelines.
• Develop and implement territory business strategies using the territory business plan.
• Accurately report sales activities, territory expenses, and submit required reports by deadlines.
• Manage and maintain all company equipment and promotional materials according to guidelines.
• Attend all company-sponsored sales and medical meetings, including POAs, national sales meetings, and regional/local conventions.
• Engage in continuous learning on sales techniques, communication, and product/therapeutic area training.
• Perform additional responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
• Proven track record of successful sales results and ability to meet or exceed objectives.
• Ability to manage accounts with strong selling competencies.
• Business acumen to analyze market drivers and develop business plans.
• Skills in building and maintaining professional relationships with key customers and office staff.
• Ability to work in matrix teams.
• Willingness to travel.
• Valid Driver's License in good standing.

Nice to Have

• 2+ years of oncology selling experience.
• Fundamental understanding of the oncology reimbursement landscape.
• Established relationships with key oncology cancer centers and treating clinicians in the territory.
• Knowledge or experience in oncology therapeutic areas.

• Compensation: $122,500 - 175,000 (final salary may vary based on experience).
