This role focuses on enhancing and supporting the sales process through pipeline and prospect development, gathering and positioning of competitive intelligence, RFP strategy / support / response enhancement, and finalist support. This position involves close collaboration with sales and marketing teams to translate business development strategies into actionable initiatives, market research efforts, and sales activities. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • RFP strategy/support/response enhancement, including mining for differentiating solutions, identifying challenging areas, final review and enhancement of responses, and strategic writing of new responses.
  • Provide finalist support by developing tailored content and messaging strategies, collaborating closely with the salesperson, and ensuring consistency from the RFP response through to the finalist presentation.
  • Support across the Optum Rx sales organization and manage company-specific playbook and line of business-specific messaging.
  • Arrange cross-Optum opportunities for insertion into RFPs and provide NBEA support as needed.
  • Partner with strategic sales consultants to coordinate strategic positioning and manage peaks and valleys of the sales cycle.
  • Read entire RFPs, highlight key differentiators, develop initial strategy documents, and maintain alignment with business goals and stakeholder input.
  • Track historical deals, understand proposal responses, and identify where solutions were offered and when.
  • Support analytics pipeline by extracting data insights to inform decisions.
  • Participate in exceptions calls, BAFO calls, and formulate points of view.
  • Actively participate in sales calls through shadowing and stepping in as needed to support the team.
  • Proactively handle requests, emails, and follow-ups.
  • Serve as a company thought leader and functional SME, providing resources to senior leadership.
  • Develop pioneering approaches to emerging industry trends.

Requirements

  • PBM experience.
  • Project management experience and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing projects, deliverables, and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Experience operating within a matrix environment to drive collaboration and strategy.
  • Proven solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Willing or able to travel up to 10%.
  • Experience managing projects and working with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Pharmacy technician or clinical experience.
  • Sales support experience.
  • Understanding of PBM bid process.
  • Understanding & formulating strategies around customer experience.
  • Understanding of CRM database.
  • Understanding of PBM financials.

Qualifications

  • Proven solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience managing projects and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Willing or able to travel up to 10%.
