About the Role

The Planning Project Manager oversees planning and design projects from inception to completion within a planning, design, and surveying firm dedicated to improving communities. The role involves developing project plans, managing budgets and resources, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and serving as a key contact for stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage planning projects of various scopes and scales for both public and private sector clients.
  • Prepare plans, renderings, graphics, reports, and projections aligned with company standards, regulatory guidelines, and client needs.
  • Consult with clients to define project requirements and provide recommendations on design, materials, costs, and timelines.
  • Coordinate internal and external teams, including consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure quality assurance, perform progress reporting, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Support business development by attending public meetings, participating in civic organizations, and representing the firm at community events.
  • Conduct research, compile data, and assist in the preparation of planning and landscape architectural materials.

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 8+ years of working experience in planning, urban design, or landscape architecture.
  • Project Manager experience required.
  • Landscape Architecture license and/or AICP accreditation strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific, technical, financial, and legal documents.
  • Proficiency with Rhino, Lumion, Enscape, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, ESRI GIS, AutoCAD, and MS Office software.
  • Must possess a valid driver license.

Nice to Have

  • Landscape Architecture license.
  • AICP accreditation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Project management experience.
