About the Role

Forrester is seeking a Principal Analyst to be a critical member of the research team writing for our AI-enhanced low-code body of work. This individual serves low-code development and business leaders and helps them achieve high performance - the ability to deliver great business results through technology. Success in this position guides vendors to define the future of the market. The role involves delivering research, fostering collaboration across teams, and providing insights on development needs, investment prioritization, and long-term strategy in the AI-enhanced low-code space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary research on the present and future of AI-enhanced low-code strategy, architecture, and roadmaps.
  • Generate applications using AI and understand their underlying layers with low-code (AppGen).
  • Research AI-enhanced low-code governance and risk management, including citizen development.
  • Analyze financial and cost optimization of AI-enhanced low-code tools.
  • Assess performance management of AI-enhanced low-code development, including KPIs and benchmarks.
  • Research how AI compresses the traditional software development lifecycle for low-code and traditional development.
  • Create 8 to 12 high-quality, actionable research projects annually, including reports, tools, webinars, videos, blogs, podcasts, and infographics.
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to promote research visibility.
  • Drive and lead key Forrester Wave and Landscape reports.
  • Consult with clients, applying research to their business environments and providing guidance.
  • Present at industry events and client webinars.
  • Establish an industry presence as a speaker and thinker, build relationships with journalists, and participate in press inquiries.
  • Support business development and prospect conversations as arranged by account leadership.
  • Foster a culture of cross-team collaboration, mentorship, integrity, and positive pursuit.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years' experience in low-code development as a leader (director level or above) or equivalent experience as a research analyst, product management lead, or consultant in the low-code space.
  • Understanding of the AI-enhanced low-code market, especially as it moves toward AppGen (fully generating applications with AI).
  • Ability to serve as an advisor to senior management and C-level clients.
  • Excellent client-facing communication, listening, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong knowledge of issues and challenges faced by technology executives and leaders, including implications of current and emerging technology markets, economics, and labor.
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into simple, bold concepts and take a stand on outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in conducting or leading research projects in the low-code or AI-enhanced development space.
  • Experience with market analysis, vendor evaluations, or industry thought leadership.

Qualifications

  • Formal educational background is not explicitly specified, but extensive experience in low-code development or related research roles is required.

Benefits & Perks

  • Base salary range: $126,000 - $229,000.
  • Bonus target: 15% (estimated bonus target for Washington State employees).
  • Comprehensive benefits package (details available at https://forresterbenefits.com/).
