The Principal Business Data Steward role involves supporting data management initiatives, enforcing data standards, and ensuring data quality within the organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) understanding both technical and business process context of the data.
  • Support data management initiatives and enforce data management standards across the organization.
  • Gather data requirements and perform complex data analysis using tools such as SQL, ABI MetadataHub, Alation, Postgres, Snowflake, and Microsoft Office.
  • Perform data lineage tasks utilizing ETL and backend data management tools like AB Initio and BRE.
  • Conduct complex data analysis between multiple tables using SQL and PL-SQL.
  • Ensure data quality, metadata management, data governance, and data modeling practices are followed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a similar role or in an engineering-related occupation.
  • Knowledge of data management concepts including Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Governance, and Data Modeling.
  • Experience with technologies such as AB Initio, OCP, Jenkins, Trident, SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in gathering data requirements and performing complex data analysis using SQL, ABI MetadataHub, Alation, Postgres, Snowflake, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with ETL tools and performing data lineage tasks.
  • Ability to analyze data across multiple tables using SQL and PL-SQL, and work with Oracle, Snowflake, Teradata, or Postgres.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data analysis and management in financial or banking environments.
  • Familiarity with additional data tools and platforms not explicitly listed.
