Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software tools and data pipelines.
Deliver complex features with quality and supportability.
Write and maintain clear architecture, tests, and system guide documentation.
Collaboratively define, scope, prioritize, and estimate work.
Assist with implementations and ensure the software is functioning as expected.
Review design documents and code to provide constructive feedback.
Identify, design, and implement data processes such as automating processes and optimizing data delivery.
Build infrastructure and tools to increase data ETL velocity.
Test and deploy programs and applications.
Triage, reproduce, and debug issues reported by coworkers.
Work autonomously on new items and proactively unblock yourself.
Adhere to the team's SDLC process for tracking bugs and features.
Constantly improve product quality, security, and performance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
8+ years of experience as a full-time Software Developer/Engineer, including 3+ years in Data Engineering.
Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Palantir, Spark, Kafka.
Experience with relational SQL databases like Postgres and Oracle.
Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like StreamSets and Palantir Foundry.
Experience with stream-processing systems such as Storm, Spark-Streaming, Apache Flink.
Proficiency in object-oriented or functional scripting languages like Python and Perl.
Familiarity with Git and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
Experience with stream-processing systems like KSQL and Spark-Streaming.
Good analytical skills working with structured and unstructured datasets.
Knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and scalable big data stores.
Desire to keep up with advancements in relevant technologies.
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to mentor junior peers.

Nice to Have

Experience using additional big data tools like Palantir.
Experience with additional stream-processing systems.
Additional certifications or specialized training in data engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
8+ years of experience as a full-time Software Developer/Engineer, including 3+ years in Data Engineering.
