Principal, Solutions Engineer, Innovation

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate across the Advanced Innovation Collective and product creation teams to research, develop, and deliver digital concepts and solutions.
• Partner with experts in user experience, 3D modeling, visualization, software development, data, machine learning, and integrated workflows to conceptualize, prototype, validate, and deliver high-value digital solutions.
• Work with design, materials, engineered textiles, engineering, and manufacturing teams to understand their needs and develop solutions that address those needs.
• Revolutionize the intersection of technology, manufacturing, and physical product R&D by delivering functional prototypes and proof of concepts.
• Explore new concepts and ideas through delivering solutions that answer key questions and support Nike's innovation strategies.
• Create next-generation materials, product designs, engineering, and manufacturing practices to shape future innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related field, or suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
• Experience designing and building complex software solutions.
• Highly proficient in building 2D and 3D software.
• Experience building cloud-based solutions (AWS preferred).
• Ability to develop simple and elegant solutions to complex engineering problems using algorithmic thinking.
• Proficiency with multiple programming languages (JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Python).
• Experience with data visualization (preferred).
• Robotics experience (preferred).
• ALML experience (preferred).
• Innovation mindset with the ability to thrive in rapid prototyping environments.
• High motivation and passion for continuous learning.
• Exceptional collaboration, listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to see the big picture and decompose it into domains.
• Ability to handle ambiguous requirements and rapidly changing directions.
