Key Responsibilities

  • Influence how Cribl's products are marketed, shaped, and built through close partnership with Product and Engineering.
  • Define the strategic direction of technical assets and demo environments, creating reusable systems to support the broader TME team, sales engineering, and partners.
  • Represent Cribl as a thought leader in observability, security, and data management by engaging with industry analysts, key customers, and speaking at major conferences.
  • Mentor and elevate the skills of other TMEs, solutions engineers, and technical marketers across the company.
  • Define and own the vision for technical marketing demos, content, and competitive positioning by establishing repeatable frameworks.
  • Lead complex proof-of-value environments demonstrating Cribl's differentiation in enterprise scenarios.
  • Serve as the technical authority for strategic product launches, analyst engagements, and competitive positioning efforts.
  • Drive competitive analysis and synthesize insights into Cribl's market narrative and product roadmaps.
  • Partner with Solutions Engineering and Revenue Enablement to scale demo and technical assets globally.
  • Create whitepapers, blogs, application notes, and implementation guides to promote Cribl solutions.
  • Contribute to marketing requirements, product specifications, and design reviews with Product Management and Engineering.
  • Develop and deliver technical assets on products, features, and technologies for internal and external audiences.
  • Act as a Technical Lead at tradeshows, overseeing demos, presentations, and technical setups.
  • Create and maintain real-world technical environments aligned with customer environments.
  • Travel approximately 40-50% for conferences and marketing events.

Requirements

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in the software field as a technical marketing engineer, sales engineer, systems administrator, system engineer, SRE/SWE, or support engineer.
  • 7+ years of experience in the observability software space.
  • Ability to mentor senior peers and enhance organizational capability.
  • Deep understanding of advanced networking and system architecture concepts, with event-driven architecture experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with containers using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Advanced experience with AWS and working knowledge of Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience and proficiency with Javascript and regular expressions.
  • Experience with code versioning and CI/CD tools like Github and Bitbucket.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Knowledge of search languages like Kusto, Splunk SPL, Elastic/Kibana/OpenSearch Query DSL.
  • Experience with metrics-driven products like Loki/Grafana or Datadog.
  • Experience with SIEM products such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Wiz, Sentinel One.
  • Self-driven attitude, eagerness to learn, and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executives, analysts, and large audiences.

  • Event-driven architecture experience.
