Job Description

About the Role

The Product Development Manager acts as a single point of contact for evolving Temporary Structures products and services, leading projects to determine the validity of business adjacencies and establish new processes. They are a subject matter expert for the Temporary Structures business line, providing training and support for internal United Rentals employees, and delivering solutions to customers seeking operational efficiency. The position aims to drive incremental profitable revenue within all assigned areas, including target accounts, while promoting customer engagement and strengthening customer relationships. The role involves working closely with District and Branch operations and sales leaders to promote the full Temporary Structures service offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Target and focus on the development of the Temporary Structures product and service offerings within an assigned District.
  • Work with applicable internal team members to develop operational efficiencies and drive incremental Temporary Structures revenue.
  • Potentially provide project management oversight for high-profile opportunities on key projects.
  • Develop a plan to deploy additional assets on hi-rail setups.
  • Assist the District Manager in developing and conducting training for operations staff, focusing on product familiarization.
  • Assist and coordinate with the District Manager in fleet planning activities and order fulfillment.
  • Assist with purchasing and procurement.
  • Develop Temporary Structures location processes and create consistency.
  • Coach other leaders within the district on best practices.
  • Conduct in-service and installer familiarization on-site as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 10+ years' sales/operations experience, preferably in branch or sales management, with large account experience selling complex solutions.
  • Operations experience, specific to structures operations, is highly desirable.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Knowledge of temporary structures or related equipment is required.
  • Independent and possesses strong research and organizational skills.

Nice to Have

  • Operations experience specific to structures operations.
