About the Role

The Product Manager leads an Agile program in delivering the right business solutions, at the right time, to the right customers and stakeholders. Builds relationships and influences leadership, customers, Architects and other stakeholders to convert solutions into realizable business value. Responsible for identifying customer needs, defining and refining value streams and program epics into features, prioritizing and sequencing them on the program roadmap, and working with Product Owners to translate features into user stories that satisfy the program and product solution vision. Achieves results through strong influence, relationship building, support, and direction to Product Owners on an Agile Release Train.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and support prioritized Portfolio and Value Stream work by collaborating with IT Solution Architect, Business Architect, and Epic Owner to breakdown epics/capabilities into program features.
  • Manage the delivery of business value through prioritized features and enablers working through the program Kanban and backlog to ensure adequate ready features are available.
  • Lead and collaborate with Product Owners on understanding features to translate into stories for team backlogs within the Agile Release Train.
  • Lead feature definition and refinement including establishing feature acceptance criteria.
  • Understand customer and stakeholder needs, collaborating with business and technical architects to define solutions aligned with portfolio strategy.
  • Work with system and solutions technology members to influence decision-making and sequencing of technological initiatives.
  • Contribute to and help lead program planning by defining and presenting business intent, planned features, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Lead the program increment demo to evaluate delivered business value and inspect and adapt the product or solution for the next increment.
  • Collaborate with supporting Product Managers to determine cross-program impacts, interdependencies, and communication plans.
  • Provide input and feedback to Epic Owners on new and existing epics with customer needs in mind.
  • Communicate progress of solutions to stakeholders.
  • Maintain epics and features in agile planning tooling solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math, or four (4) years of relevant experience working as a project lead responsible for breaking down complex projects into solutionable deliverables.
  • Four (4) years of demonstrated technical experience as a system user subject matter expert.
  • At least one (1) year as a project lead responsible for solution breakdown across organization-wide projects or system design.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and applying SAFe preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean values/concepts and scaling with SAFe framework required.
  • Demonstrated solutions-based thinking with the ability to break down complex concepts into understandable, smaller, and sequential deliverables.
  • Strong influencing skills to guide leadership, Architects, Product Owners, Agile Release Trains, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to tailor communications of complex concepts to all levels in an understandable manner.
  • Technical knowledge as a system user subject matter expert preferred.
  • Business acumen and understanding of larger company strategy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Brokerage and Custom Clearance processes.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math, or four (4) years of relevant experience.
