About the Role

The Data Product Manager for Orange Apron Media (OAM) is responsible for driving the design, delivery, and adoption of data products that power media sales, planning, activation, measurement, and optimization. This role bridges business needs with technical execution, ensuring our data products are scalable, reliable, and aligned with OAM's strategic growth objectives. They will collaborate with engineering, analytics, operations, and business stakeholders to define product requirements, manage backlogs, and deliver high-value features that enable internal teams and partners to build, measure, and optimize retail media campaigns effectively. This position requires a strong blend of customer-back, user-centric design, product thinking, and technical acumen to deliver data products that are foundational to OAM's media ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain a thorough understanding of customer and associate needs, both existing and potential, and use that knowledge to help deliver enterprise products that provide Home Depot customers and associates with an unparalleled shopping experience
  • Translate business goals and end user needs into product strategy; communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners
  • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings
  • Conduct end user research to help identify user stories and help determine Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
  • Partner with Finance to understand financial needs and assist in the creation of business plans for new opportunities
  • Monitor research as well as the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class
  • Evaluate research and market analysis on industry innovations and technology platforms to recommend the best possible solution
  • Ensure product is aligned with company, stakeholder and end-user priorities to drive sales, improve efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction
  • Document, review and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met
  • Formulate, test and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing
  • Create, prioritize and accept user stories; incorporate them into release planning
  • Make product decisions that drive value on a daily basis
  • Identify pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies and value associated with features and enhancements
  • Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos and retrospectives
  • Condense complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders
  • Foster collaboration with team members (Engineering, User Experience Designers, etc.) to drive value and collectively identify and resolve impediments
  • Act as a proponent of modern software development practices
  • Advocate for the end user and stakeholder by empathizing with and understanding user needs and becoming the domain expert
  • Work with the product team to assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and understand next steps
  • Manage cross functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy; provide education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience
  • Communicate the product's long term strategy clearly at all levels and formats

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working as a Product Manager in a modern software development based enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated experience with modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies, specifically XP principles
  • Proven ability to deliver customer-back, user-centric data products that solve real business problems and drive adoption
  • Experience translating business objectives into product roadmaps, backlogs, and requirements
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leaders
  • Ability to create clear documentation, executive-ready presentations, and other product deliverables
  • Ability to manage and prioritize work in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
  • Experience identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, pipelines, and quality concepts
  • Ability to partner with data engineering and analytics teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions
  • Comfort working with SQL, APIs, or other tools to validate data and guide requirements
  • Understanding of retail media or digital media ecosystems, including ad servers, DSPs, audience segmentation, campaign metadata, and performance measurement
  • Experience supporting media planning, activation, or measurement workflows
  • Exposure to marketing attribution, incrementality testing, or campaign optimization is a plus
