The Product Manager, Technical is ultimately accountable, responsible, and has ownership of T-Mobile's internal and external products, platforms, services, experiences envisioned and created to achieve the specific business purpose or business results. This role involves identifying customer problems and unmet needs, assessing technical feasibility and business goals, securing funding, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver solutions. The position requires conducting market research, writing features or user stories, defining specifications, creating product roadmaps, driving technical delivery, and supporting go-to-market activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Owns product end to end for products or features with moderate complexity and scope, including creating, managing, and communicating product vision and strategy.
  • Conducts market research and partners with business and internal/external collaborators to understand current customer experience and identify opportunities.
  • Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to identify product innovation opportunities or root causes of issues, and assesses impact and opportunity size.
  • Uses rapid hypothesis-driven testing methodologies and experiments to inform product direction and prioritize investments.
  • Develops and maintains understanding of tech trends and assesses their impact on the product roadmap.
  • Communicates, influences, and presents ideas at Director level and below, including delivering product presentations.
  • Translates product strategy into detailed features and user stories for development teams, including creating prototypes if needed.
  • Collaborates with Agile teams to design, architect, and assemble delivery teams, and manages product backlog and priorities.
  • Scopes and prioritizes activities based on business and customer impact, factoring in technical debt and long-term investments.
  • Ensures timely release schedules, manages feature elaboration activities, and maintains dashboards and reports on product health and success metrics.
  • Supports sales, marketing, and partner teams with product knowledge and documentation, and supports the overall software development process.
  • Owns product quality and performance in production, manages response to critical defects, and drives operational improvements.
  • Develops positive relationships with technical and non-technical teams, including external partners and customer groups.
  • Participates in professional development activities and develops adoption tools and training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in hands-on technical writing, solution engineering, or technical architecture in large-scale environments.
  • 5+ years of relevant Product Management experience in an agile software development environment.
  • Proven success with Agile Scrum methodologies and project management tools.
  • Strong requirements elicitation and technical writing skills, capable of clear communication for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with Agile backlog and project management tools.
  • Ability to develop initiatives, features, and user stories for DevOps teams.
  • Experience delivering large and complex technology initiatives as a Product Manager or lead role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Fluent in MS SQL, Tableau, and analytical solutions like SAS or SPSS.
  • Knowledge of the full technology stack on which the product runs.
  • Strong business analysis skills with the ability to analyze and synthesize product use data.

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO).
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
