About the Role

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit has nearly fifty years of production and development expertise. The ams OSRAM Group is a global leader in intelligent optical emitters, sensors, and integrated circuits. The Regional Product Marketing team drives the execution of global strategy at a regional level, focusing on market trends, customer engagement, and revenue development. The role involves developing regional market understanding, managing customer relationships, launching new products, and supporting sales and marketing strategies to grow the illumination LED business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate an authoritative understanding of current regional market conditions, future trends, challenges, and innovations for the product portfolio roadmap.
  • Identify new customers and develop new business opportunities from scratch.
  • Manage existing customers and derive new business opportunities to support joint growth.
  • Benchmark the competitive landscape and develop effective product, pricing, and marketing communication strategies.
  • Participate in optical standards groups within the industry; create content for white papers, technical reviews, and case studies; present at conferences and events.
  • Lead, manage, and execute regional launch activities of new product introductions in collaboration with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Marketing Communications teams.
  • Co-own the opportunity funnel with the Sales team; develop business cases and trigger pre-development projects with targeted lead customers.
  • Ensure local execution of global pricing strategy to optimize market penetration.
  • Proactively promote the Illumination LED portfolio to support the Sales team’s understanding of positioning, benefits, and target customers.
  • Prepare periodic business reports and ad-hoc management analysis.
  • Manage product information tools to support Sales and Customer Service teams, including product presentations and demo development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or other technical field relevant to LED/lighting; MBA in marketing a plus.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant engineering or product marketing experience in semiconductor or related field.
  • Strong business acumen, customer orientation, and drive for results.
  • Excellent analytical skills and conceptual thinking with the ability to synthesize broad information into concise, actionable intelligence.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and an avid learner.
  • Excellent business and technical communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to work in a global environment with multiple organizations.
  • Availability to travel 30-40%.

Nice to Have

  • MBA in marketing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or relevant technical field.
