Job Description

About the Role

The Product Marketing Engineer at Eaton is responsible for developing and leading best practices for critical customer documentation and marketing collateral, supporting growth initiatives with key customers through technical education and order support, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop or modify products to meet customer and market needs. The role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting Voice-of-Customer (VOC) initiatives, and conducting competitive comparisons for technical and marketing benchmarking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead best practices for critical customer documentation and marketing collateral including instruction booklets, parts catalogues, design guides, specifications, and brochures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize quote and order fulfillment processes using customer-facing order tools.
  • Support growth initiatives with key customers through technical education and order support.
  • Support Voice-of-Customer (VOC) initiatives, including developing and gathering feedback from prospective customers in key market segments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain to develop new products or modify existing products to meet customer requirements and market needs.
  • Conduct competitive comparisons for both technical product and marketing benchmarking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (industrial, mechanical, electrical), technical marketing, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2 or more years of experience in operations engineering, sales engineering, and/or technical marketing within the electrical industry.
  • Experience with product and technical knowledge of Medium-Voltage switchgear.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to collaborate and solve problems.
  • Experience with Excel and data analysis.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of key customers and ability to grow relationships with those customers in multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to assess customer needs, provide clear, competitive quotations, and overcome customer objections to win and grow the business.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Nice to Have

  • 1 year of experience with power distribution and power systems.
  • Time management, presentation, and planning skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or related field.
