Job Description

About the Role

The Product Specialist position is responsible for working with new and prospective clients as well as internal clients to effectively discuss the features and benefits of Sensata Technologies' product solutions. The role involves participating in a multi-site, cross-functional operation to deliver exceptional customer service, analyzing markets and customer needs, and supporting product and technical training efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in work within a multi-site, cross-functional matrixed operation to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Assist new business opportunities to help define and optimize the product portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues, and the competitive environment.
  • Make recommendations to improve product quality and/or feature sets, service, and responsiveness to customers.
  • Respond to customer product and application inquiries via telephone or email, provide product pricing and availability, and monitor competitive activity to identify customer needs.
  • Coordinate, staff, and/or attend or support national and regional trade shows.
  • Assist and conduct technical training courses and application workshops regarding products for customers, salespeople, distributors, or manufacturer's reps.
  • Provide assistance to leverage current portfolio of products and services to drive penetration in key accounts and profitable long-term growth.

Requirements

  • A university degree required (i.e., Bachelor's degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written, and presentation.
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve results.
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and external customers.
