About the Role

The Product Specialist role is part of the Product Development team at Societe Generale, responsible for ensuring the Global Prime Services Platform remains competitive, relevant, and innovative. The role involves coordinating with support divisions, acting as a liaison to clients, exchanges, and third-party technology providers, and managing product development and client relationships within the Prime Brokerage Products domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage members of the Product Development team, assigning roles and responsibilities to increase productivity.
  • Drive new product design through thought leadership and vision definition.
  • Hold key client relationships to protect and increase NBI generation.
  • Represent the Prime Services division to senior management through regular Product and Business Updates.
  • Assist team members with their Project and Product management tasks to ensure delivery of new Prime Services projects.
  • Provide day-to-day product coverage and support to sales teams to drive NBI growth.
  • Manage budgets and headcounts assigned to large Enterprise initiatives.
  • Attend Client Sales Pitches.
  • Engage and maintain relationships with support functions to ensure high customer service levels.
  • Document procedures and business requirements as needed.
  • Provide training to sales and support staff on new and existing products.
  • Evolve the platform to deliver client-specific requirements.
  • Present global capabilities to regional sales staff.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience in Capital Markets running Product Development functions.
  • Experience in Prime Services or related finance functions.
  • High-level knowledge of Fixed Income, FX, centrally cleared repo or other PB products.
  • Educational background with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent; a Master's or equivalent in a numerate discipline is desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with VBA and scripting languages is preferred.
  • Understanding of OTC FX, Derivative and Cash Prime brokerage including system deployment and trade flow analysis.
  • Knowledge of Clearing, Margin, and Risk processes.
  • Familiarity with client reporting, Fixed Income trade flow, settlement, and Repo Financing.
  • Understanding of Equity Finance, stock loan/borrow, and Rehypothecation.
  • Knowledge of FX electronic marketplace, confirmation, and settlement.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and Traiana Suite of products.
  • Knowledge of SQL and other database querying languages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; a Master's or equivalent in a numerate discipline is desired.
