Job Description

About the Role

This Product Specialist is responsible for collaborating with the IFB Product team and internal departments on the development and deployment of new and existing Individual & Family products. The role involves completing product analysis, implementation, lifecycle activities, researching product challenges, and identifying trends for product improvement. The Product Specialist reports to the IFB Product Lifecycle Director and works with various internal stakeholders such as Actuarial, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, IT, Configuration, BDA, Sales, and Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support portfolio management of IFB product/programs that address the Individual & Family Markets by partnering with Actuarial, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, IT, Configuration, BDA, Sales, and Marketing in product management lifecycle activities.
  • Develop training materials for brokers and sales teams related to product portfolios.
  • Update and maintain product grids for IFB products.
  • Perform activities that support product performance and growth goals.
  • Review and perform duties related to product design.
  • Perform market segment research as needed to support product development.
  • Monitor market segment trends using internal and external resources.
  • Assist in gathering and executing product requirements and key milestones.
  • Create product recommendations for leadership review and prioritization.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and streamline activities through developing templates, workflows, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with the product team and communicate clearly.
  • Contribute to process and execution improvements to enhance product development and management outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of work experience beyond degree.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and self-starting attitude.
  • Ability to take strategic direction from leadership and matrix partners and translate it into tactical execution.
  • Ability to work onsite approximately 3 days per week, with preferred candidates located near Minnetonka, MN, or Madison, WI.

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
