About the Role

The Program Manager, IoT Chipset at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., is responsible for developing, defining, and executing plans of record including schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables, and risks. The role involves monitoring and driving programs from initiation through delivery, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders across functions on technical matters as needed. This position is office-based in San Diego, CA, and requires managing complex hardware programs, coordinating with third parties and internal teams, and ensuring program milestones are met while maintaining budget and schedule adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly coordinates with third parties and/or internal customers for large, complex hardware programs to identify and meet needs, track and communicate program status updates, and ensure compliance with processes and guidelines.
  • Prepares and discusses agenda for review board meetings under guidance of the Chipset and HW Platform Program Managers and documents key discussion points, project plan changes, and stakeholder needs.
  • Contributes to and updates project plans to support Program Managers or Leads on multiple or large programs that include priorities, timelines, critical tasks, stakeholder identification for each task, and forecasted resource allocation.
  • Collects, compiles, analyzes, monitors, and maintains budget data and recommends budget decisions to Program Lead or Manager and drives closure.
  • Tracks the progress and execution of multiple, complex deliverables to ensure deadlines are met, and identifies, escalates, and manages issues that may impact deadlines.
  • Determines schedules and task assignments by evaluating stakeholder needs and following proper project management practices with general guidance from the Program Manager.
  • Manages and communicates changes in program timelines, priorities, and deliverables for multiple programs to stakeholders.
  • Anticipates risks and issues in limited capacity throughout the program lifecycle, communicates issues to the Program Manager, and works with relevant team members to determine a solution.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets complex data and program metrics using advanced tools such as macros, pivot tables, charts, and graphs.
  • Creates tools and processes to maintain and update databases using advanced data management tools like Excel and agile methodologies.
  • Synthesizes complex data and metrics into summaries of key trends, risks, and changes, and presents results in reports understandable by stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of improvements to planning processes, tools, and methods, and drives standardization with support from Program Managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
  • Experience creating, scheduling, and maintaining program plans or related experience.
  • Experience with program management tools.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and program metrics.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying complex information and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and provide guidance to others.
  • Decision-making skills with moderate impact, including managing issues and risks.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
