About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the identification, documentation, and implementation of acquisition and sustainment activities to plan, develop, and implement program strategies across multiple OTA, MTA, and ACAT programs, including milestone preparation and documentation.
• Liaison work with other AFLCMC Program Offices and operational units across DoD involved with GPS/PNT modernization activities.
• Providing expertise in support of the overall project lead, Integrated Product Teams, conferences, and meetings.
• Providing acquisition management support services to ensure effective and efficient delivery of products supporting the customer's mission.
• Developing new approaches to problems encountered and supporting the management of acquisition strategies for assigned projects.
• Evaluating program and mission requirements to establish detailed objectives and integrating these activities within the program office and outside organizations.
• Implementing plans by preparing and reviewing program documents, including acquisition plans, schedules, engineering change proposals, and design studies.
• Performing contractor-designated activities for assigned projects and identifying problem areas for further study and evaluation.
• Assisting with defending the program position at reviews, conferences, and other functions by providing status and decision information.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• An active DoD Secret security clearance.
• A Bachelor's Degree.
• At least 10 years of related acquisition experience.
• Participation in the development, coordination, and execution of major program milestones (preferably ACAT 1 but ACAT II/III acceptable).
• Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives.
• A clear understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 10%.

Nice to Have

• Top Secret Clearance.
• 4 years acquisition experience in a System Program Office.
• Experience with GPS systems, electronics, and/or aircraft integration.
• Level II DAWIA Certification (Acquisition Program Manager).

• A Bachelor's Degree.
