About the Role

Fantastic opportunity to join FNZ's dynamic delivery team as a Project Manager, driving the successful execution of high-impact projects across the financial services sector. This role requires end-to-end project ownership, ensuring delivery, quality standards, and budget expectations. You will lead teams across multiple locations and take a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks and issues throughout the full project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in technology, with proven experience leading large-scale projects in financial services. This is a highly client-facing position, demanding exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple projects within the change Program, ensuring Program goals are reached.
  • Monitor expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the Program progresses.
  • Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the Program both internally & externally.
  • Plan and manage the Program through proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
  • Manage and maintain a strong relationship with FNZ customers across all elements of the Program, ensuring expectations are managed and aligned with delivery planning.
  • Understand the commercial environment FNZ operates within and work closely with the Client Director to deliver against FNZ's commercial agreements.
  • Manage the delivery of the Program through the full project lifecycle, from initiation through to implementation.
  • Ensure the Program delivers in-line with the FNZ Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) and associated quality controls are met.
  • Create and maintain an end-to-end project plan that delivers the agreed scope of the project to time, budget, and quality criteria.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day running of each project to ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Work with all FNZ Directorates/areas to agree scope, timelines, and artefacts for project delivery.
  • Take accountability for the overall estimating process for a project, collaborating with relevant managers to estimate work effort within timescales and budgets.
  • Maintain accurate project status and financial reporting for the entire project team.
  • Provide timely, precise, accurate, and comprehensive project MI internally and externally.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies through the full project lifecycle.
  • Build mitigation plans for all risks and issues, ensuring their execution or escalation as appropriate.
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party suppliers, ensuring contracts are in place and managed to meet FNZ outcomes.
  • Manage operational readiness activities, including training and handovers ahead of go-live.
  • Undertake post-implementation reviews and share lessons learned with the PM community.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a virtual team across multiple locations, ensuring accountability for delivery.
  • Mentor and support other project managers within the delivery team.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Resolve conflicts within the project team and stakeholders promptly.
  • Contribute to the FNZ PM community by sharing best practices and lessons learned.
  • Manage the impact of regulatory changes and ensure future changes are incorporated into project plans.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading large-scale projects in financial services or similar sectors.
  • Strong background in technology and project management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
  • Experience managing multiple projects within a program environment.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and lifecycle, including SDLC.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed project plans and financial reports.
  • Strong risk management skills, including mitigation planning.
  • Experience leading virtual teams across multiple geographic locations.
  • Understanding of regulatory environments relevant to financial services.
