Job Description

About the Role

Position: Project Manager at Amphenol High Speed Products Group, a market leader in high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market. The company supports major Tier 1 OEMs globally with products that enable the electronics revolution. The role involves overseeing customer communication, project planning, technical leadership for new product development, and supporting production test and signal integrity teams. The position is based in Valley Green, PA, with the company's headquarters in Nashua, NH, and global design, sales, and manufacturing locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the project, the project team, contribute to the project scope and project objectives, and ensure all steps are completed.
  • Provide communication interface to customer for communication of project status, schedule, requirements, etc.
  • Manage and provide technical leadership to project teams across multiple sites during product development projects.
  • Schedule and manage internal team meetings to address necessary action items and keep projects on schedule.
  • Manage internal and external suppliers for on-time completion of actions.
  • Provide timely communication to management regarding resource requirements to keep projects on schedule.
  • Define product specifications and project scope to align with market and customer needs, and develop the product/process accordingly.
  • Ensure projects meet financial objectives, including creation, review, and submission of capital requests, product costing, and scope management.
  • Make decisions to accelerate processes and optimize time to market, volume, and profitability.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles during product development.
  • Perform capacity planning throughout project phases to meet expected demand.
  • Provide project updates to functional management regularly.
  • Ensure systems are set up for ordering and manufacturing of products.
  • Manage and reduce risks using risk reduction tools to maintain project objectives and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from a four-year university.
  • 2+ years of related experience and/or training within the connector industry (preferred).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical product drawings and procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills with various levels of management.
  • Ability to manage customer communication and expectations effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with practical variables and interpret instructions in various formats.
  • Knowledge and skills in using project management software, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate and relate with project teams across different regions.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision and provide project status updates.
  • Root cause analysis skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical product drawings and procedures.
  • Experience in the connector industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
