About the Role

The Project Manager role at CACI involves providing management oversight for a portfolio of diverse projects supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). The position offers an opportunity to lead projects through their lifecycle, develop new skills, and contribute to organizational success within a hybrid work environment, primarily based in Crane, IN. The role supports NavalX within the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and manages multidisciplinary engineering and R&D projects, emphasizing high-quality oversight and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage personnel, cost, and performance of a team of technical professionals and subcontractors delivering solutions to a variety of DoD projects.
  • Closely track financials across all portfolio projects to ensure continuity of funding for the entire team, create accurate revenue forecasts, and analyze root causes of financial issues to develop solutions.
  • Plan and coordinate all activities associated with execution of assigned portfolio of projects to ensure timely delivery of all requirements.
  • Take initiative by self-educating, taking ownership of tasking, and identifying new areas of responsibility based upon team needs and individual strengths.
  • Gather and distribute information to subcontractors and service providers, including initiating, preparing, reviewing, and tracking RFIs and submittals.
  • Interface with subcontractors and matrixed teams to ensure completeness of financial and technical deliverables.
  • Collect and prepare monthly project status reports and assist with project closeout.
  • Responsible for the acquisition of services, materials, and supplies for assigned projects, including market research, developing ROM estimates, and maintaining procurement records.
  • Monitor project team performance, including vendors, to ensure timely delivery of materials and that end products meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the program manager to achieve socioeconomic goals by contracting small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned companies, and disadvantaged business firms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or Business field.
  • 2-5 years of professional work experience supporting DoD programs or managing projects.
  • Experience managing projects, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years of personnel management that includes technical roles, task management, and customer interfacing.
  • Specific technical experience supporting US Navy projects and programs.
  • Experience leading or writing technical proposal sections.
  • DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in a STEM or Business field.
  • Relevant work experience supporting DoD projects or managing projects.
