About the Role

The Project Manager I at NBME will facilitate and lead enterprise-wide transformation through project management, continuous improvement and change management at the strategic level. This position must be able to quickly establish trust and rapport with project owners and stakeholders across the organization. This is a hands-on training design, teaching, project management, and consultative role. It requires the ability to guide the transformation of NBME into an organization that embraces change and implements creative problem solving as the norm. The successful candidate will have a passion for business transformation, strategic thinking and have demonstrated experience with the successful delivery of short and long-cycle projects. This role has been designated as primarily remote, generally not requiring onsite work more than 2-3 times per month, with consideration for candidates in PA, NJ, DE, and MD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing detailed project plans and timelines to guide successful execution.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration across departments.
  • Monitoring project progress and performance to ensure milestones are met.
  • Managing project budgets and allocating resources effectively to optimize outcomes.
  • Preparing and presenting clear, concise project status reports to stakeholders.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks to minimize impact on deliverables.
  • Contributing to vendor evaluation, selection, procurement, and ongoing vendor relationship management.
  • Supporting the seamless transition of project deliverables into operational environments.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects using structured project management methodologies.
  • Skilled in facilitating meetings, workshops, and collaborative sessions to drive alignment and outcomes.
  • Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Proficient in analyzing processes and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical thinker with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Adept at solving complex problems through structured analysis and creative thinking.
  • Familiar with stakeholder management practices, capable of supporting engagement and communication strategies.
  • Knowledgeable in change management principles, with experience supporting organizational transitions.
  • Able to assist in defining and managing project scope under guidance.
  • Effective communicator with experience delivering clear, concise information to diverse audiences.
  • 3 or more years of business experience, with significant experience in project management and process redesign.
  • Experience within non-profit, assessment, academic, or other industries that highlight 'knowledge-centric' business objectives with longer life cycles.
  • Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree strongly desired.
  • Certifications in Project Management and/or Change Management a plus.
  • Certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Bronze or Silver or must be a plus.

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Additional certifications in project management or change management.
