The Project Manager I - Advanced Technology develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all facets necessary to construct projects on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction, managing medium to large projects independently across various industries including Advanced Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Food, Semiconductor, Data Centers, Lithium, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and manage all facets necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and serve as the liaison between project team members and the client to promote mutual interests.
  • Manage engineering efforts including ensuring proper specifications and documentation, permit support, and design.
  • Ensure proper execution of all suppliers/contractors and provide technical assistance as necessary.
  • Prepare estimates and budgets and review expenditures to control costs.
  • Prepare requests for materials, supplies, and subcontractors.
  • Supervise the development and submission of reports and correspondence.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards are emphasized throughout all project phases.
  • Develop a complete understanding of the Fluor prime contract and relevant subcontracts.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of the project in accordance with contractual obligations, Operating System Requirements (OSR), and Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP).
  • Verify project requirements for Baseline Centric Execution, safety, quality, cost, and productivity are met in all locations.
  • Draft and support approval of the project baseline, ensuring it is fully documented, updated, and communicated.
  • Support the Project Director to deliver the project in accordance with the project execution and commercial baselines.

Requirements

  • Accredited four-year degree or equivalent in applicable field of study and seven (6) years of work-related experience, or a combination of education and related experience totaling eleven (10) years if non-degreed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and efficient manner.
  • Jobsite experience and understanding of construction safety programs.
  • Three (3) years of experience as Project Engineer or Specialist, or a significant project role such as Project Controls Lead or Contracts Lead.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a design or construction engineer on projects.
  • Participation in Fluor University courses for continued learning.
  • Utilization of Knowledge Management processes to support project execution.
  • Participation in sales and marketing efforts as requested.

Nice to Have

  • Project or area management experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments.
  • Successful performance as a Project Manager on small jobs or as an assistant Project Manager on medium-sized projects.
  • Completion of all required in-house project management courses and additional courses from university or other sources.
  • Good knowledge of project design, controls & finance, engineering, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, start-up, and turnover processes.
  • Understanding of key elements of contract law and when to engage legal support.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including permitting and project funding.
  • Basic understanding of project funding.
  • Mobility to relocate to site locations when necessary.
  • Certification in project management, such as Project Management Professional (PMP).

  • Educational background as specified in requirements (degree or equivalent).
  • Professional certification such as PMP (preferred).
