About the Role

The Project Manager II - IT Operations is responsible for coordinating and managing multiple complex IT projects within Mariner Finance. This role involves a hybrid of business analysis and project management, focusing on project requirements gathering, workflow definition, resource identification, and tracking progress across IT Operations, vendors, and other functional areas. The position ensures successful execution of technology projects aligned with company strategy, commitments, and standards, while fostering stakeholder collaboration and managing project risks and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple large-scale and complex projects, ensuring quality results, timely delivery, and management of scope, schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize project management tools to track project variables, provide reporting, and control activities.
  • Provide timely project status reports and communications.
  • Conduct project team meetings, elevating issues related to scope, schedule, cost, and customization to management.
  • Work with business users, product owners, and IT teams to define project scope and priorities, document assumptions and constraints.
  • Consult with stakeholders to elicit, model, verify, and validate requirements, ensuring development teams have clear and stable requirements.
  • Develop and document project plans and schedules, assigning realistic start and end dates, and oversee activities of delivery teams and external partners.
  • Work closely with the IT Operations team to optimize project approaches.
  • Identify required skills and coordinate resources, including staff and contractors, within a matrix environment.
  • Drive project success and client satisfaction through effective communication, risk management, problem-solving, and thought leadership.
  • Manage change control procedures, identify and develop plans for risks, and track mitigation efforts.
  • Create technical and functional documentation and support deployed solutions.
  • Explain tasks and processes clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
  • Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, facilitating requirements gathering, risk management, and communication.
  • Mentor junior team members in project management and business analysis skills.
  • Act as a primary liaison between IT Operations and business stakeholders, facilitating training and communication.
  • Use project management tools to generate ad hoc reports related to project data.
  • Support infrastructure, business applications, and systems, including resolving end-user issues.
  • Perform additional functions as needed to ensure quality customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or related field; applicable experience may substitute for degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience leading IT Operations and Infrastructure projects, with at least three (3) years of full project life-cycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of IT Operations, Infrastructure, and ITIL.
  • Experience with Wrike or similar project management tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Visio.
  • Ability to learn emerging technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for professional communication with vendors, service dealers, customers, and staff.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project administration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines with remote and local teams.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and capacity to support multiple projects.

Nice to Have

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Consumer lending/financial services experience.
  • Prior IT Operations Management experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
