About the Role

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk's 50,000 employees. FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. Facilities designed today will still be relevant 20 years from now. FF Expansions has a global approach, working with multiple sites and cultures across the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including projects of all complexity levels across any business unit, ensuring they are completed within budget, on time, and within scope.
  • Lead multi-disciplined project teams to complete projects on-time, on-budget, meeting all requirements related to quality, cost, schedule, and scope.
  • Develop and execute assigned project plans in accordance with scope, schedule, quality, impact, and cost objectives.
  • Develop project staffing plans, considering internal and external workers, and manage tasks and time closely for external staff to ensure budget alignment.
  • Provide project cash flow projections to support budget cycles and refine business cases with project owners/sponsors.
  • Establish and communicate quantifiable project benefits and manage, coordinate, and direct contract and internal resources.
  • Refine and clarify project scope through early analysis with subject matter experts and owners.
  • Develop bid packages, evaluate bids, drive vendor selection, and work with procurement to create project-specific contracts.
  • Accountable for financial project management including purchase order creation, invoicing, and cost forecasting.
  • Monitor and control project work with follow-up on quality, schedule, and budget to ensure delivery of desired end-products.
  • Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders and relevant leadership.
  • Ensure the quality and content of steering group status and gate presentations.
  • Review, approve, and endorse project-related procurement activities.
  • Support building, managing, and improving Project Portfolio Management systems (PMO Tools).
  • Ensure alignment with global programs and other site projects to share best practices and knowledge.
  • Support project manager mentoring and onboarding.
  • Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other Technical Science field from an accredited university, or an Associate's degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of proven project management experience, or a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of nine (9) years of proven project management experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven project management experience, including leading change management projects and complex, major capital expenditure projects.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment preferred.
  • Advanced project management competencies obtained through relevant training or experience preferred.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, including presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work in both technical and non-technical areas preferred.
  • Creativity in resolving problems during project execution preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP concepts and Lean principles preferred.
  • Understanding of product documentation and SOPs preferred.
  • Ability to create and manage work plans and detailed project schedules.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Effective communication with key stakeholders in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and planning/organizing cross-functional teams preferred.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
