Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the product development function to develop new products that meet commercial specifications.
  • Manage the delivery of feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to contribute to the development and continuous review of business cases.
  • Contribute to the development of annual business plans; develop business cases for key activities/projects and estimate the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets.
  • Promote a culture of innovation by creating solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration, such as idea generation platforms, jam sessions, and hackathons.
  • Contribute to the formation of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights to meet business needs.
  • Provide means (research, ideas, solutions) to prototype innovation business cases to shape the innovation strategy, pipeline, and road map.
  • Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best approaches within established systems.
  • Identify stakeholders, understand their needs/issues/concerns, and react by arranging meetings, events, and drafting materials to promote understanding and commitment.
  • Deliver a budget for an area of the organization or conduct complex analyses on budget progress.
  • Communicate the local action plan, explain its relation to the function's strategy and the broader organization's mission, and motivate people to achieve goals.
  • Use the organization's development framework to identify team development needs, plan and implement capability-building actions, and provide training or coaching.
  • Develop and propose performance objectives; manage and report on team performance; set objectives for direct reports or project team members and ensure achievement.
  • Make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems, exploring issues to uncover root causes.
  • Apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance organizational goals, staying attuned to industry changes and aligning activities accordingly.
  • Hold self and others accountable to meet commitments, accepting responsibility for successes and failures.
  • Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals, outlining clear plans and reducing bottlenecks.

  • Identify future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies, considering industry trends and market forces.

  • Interpret and apply key financial indicators to make better business decisions, estimating costs and analyzing financial data.
  • Know effective processes to improve efficiency, monitor accuracy and quality, and address process breakdowns promptly.
  • Adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match shifting demands, understanding cues for change.
  • Use compelling arguments to gain support and commitment from others, offering insightful suggestions and building resonant arguments.
  • Anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, ensuring efforts meet their requirements and interests.
  • Secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently, seeking the most efficient approach and requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 8-10 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in managing product development functions and business case management.
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage complexity, analyze alternatives, and recommend solutions.
  • Financial acumen and understanding of business drivers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in planning, organizing, and data analysis.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and work independently.
  • Experience in driving innovation and building organizational capability.
  • Knowledge of requirements elicitation, facilitation, and process modeling.
