This opportunity entails managing assigned project(s) throughout their full lifecycle, including developing scope and technical sections of proposals, participating in contract negotiations, and overseeing project delivery to ensure quality, timeliness, budget adherence, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
  • Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client's satisfaction. Assists with client project scoping and contract negotiations.
  • Leads and prepares design documents, technical plans, written reports on projects.
  • Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
  • Performs coordination with managers on project staffing, including recruitment, hiring, development, retention, and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
  • Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for strategic and mini-mega projects. Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare proposal and presentation materials. Leads proposal development and interview presentations.
  • May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including development of staff reporting, performance, and compensation reviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Engineering, Geology, Biology, Environmental Science, Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field and 8 years relevant experience.
  • 2 years of task management or Deputy PM experience.
  • Strong transportation industry experience.
  • Experience completing and overseeing NEPA and state equivalent documentation or similar planning studies and/or associated analyses and technical reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and policies and experience ensuring project compliance with NEPA, MEPA, National Historic Preservation Act, and other pertinent requirements.
  • Strong skills in communication and collaborating with clients, communities, tribes, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering multi-disciplined projects on time, on budget, with quality, and client satisfaction, including risk and change management guidance.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Archaeology, History, or related field.
  • American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP), Registered Landscape Architect (RLA), Registered Architect (RA), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA).
  • 15 years relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8 years relevant experience.
  • 2 years of task management or Deputy PM experience.
