About the Role

The d3c Project Manager will support research, software, and data projects within the Data Science for Dynamic Intervention Decision-Making Center (d3c), an interdisciplinary team focused on developing innovative data science tools to address public health challenges in healthcare and education. The role involves collaborating with researchers, behavioral scientists, data scientists, software developers, and partners to ensure project alignment with organizational goals, fostering partnerships, and managing cross-disciplinary collaborations. This is a one-year term-limited position with potential for renewal based on funding and performance, reporting to the d3c Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high-level view of all active and proposed projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and timelines
  • Serve as a central point of contact for project status updates, reporting, and communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and risks, escalating issues as needed to ensure timely and successful outcomes
  • Facilitate project kick-off meetings to align teams around clear timelines, roles, deliverables, and expectations
  • Create and maintain shared resources, toolkits, and documentation to support consistent and efficient project execution
  • Manage complex scheduling and logistics for meetings and workshops
  • Act as a relationship manager for cross-institutional and external partners, cultivating trust and long-term collaboration
  • Consult with faculty, researchers, and administrative staff to define project needs, goals, and success metrics
  • Represent the d3c team in meetings, sharing updates, gathering feedback, and advocating for project priorities
  • Support budgeting, purchasing, and expense tracking processes in collaboration with administrative and financial staff
  • Identify and address operational barriers that impact project execution, such as optimizing project management systems or coordinating staff training
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and organizational impact
  • Serve as a primary contact for project updates, reporting, and stakeholder communications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-4 years of related professional experience in project coordination or project management at the Intermediate level
  • 4 or more years of related professional experience in project coordination or project management at the Senior level
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex research or data projects
  • Experience managing or supporting multiple concurrent projects with timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working collaboratively in interdisciplinary or cross-functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in managing stakeholder relationships
