Job Description

About the Role

The Proposal Consultant will develop and produce effective sales materials, primarily Requests for Proposals, in support of Fidelity Workplace Investing's overall business goals. The role involves customizing documents to clearly communicate Fidelity's value proposition to external customers such as employers, plan sponsors, and third-party consultants or advisors. The Proposal Consultant manages proposal requests for complex opportunities, collaborates with internal teams, and leads initiatives to improve processes and efficiencies within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce sales materials, primarily Requests for Proposals, tailored to specific client requirements.
  • Manage, complete, and produce proposal requests for complex opportunities from internal business partners including Account Executives, Solution Architects, and Senior Management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients to facilitate effective communication.
  • Train and mentor new associates and serve as a team leader or coach for others.
  • Lead initiatives that drive efficiencies and improve processes across the team and broader organization.
  • Plan, organize, and manage proposal activities such as project timelines and deliverables.
  • Research appropriate project responses using supplied databases and other sources.
  • Display strong product and technical knowledge within the supported market and Fidelity services.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and ensure quality output.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; preferred degrees in Marketing, English, or Journalism.
  • Three or more years of financial industry experience and/or proposal management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple moving parts within tight timeframes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with business partners and team members at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in developing strategy plans in collaboration with account teams.
  • Proficiency in researching project responses and managing proposal documents.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with proposal management in the financial industry.
  • Knowledge of Fidelity services and products.
  • Certifications related to sales support or proposal management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field.
  • Three plus years of relevant experience in financial services or proposal management.
