About the Role

The Provider Relationship Manager- Outpatient Imaging at Ascension is a role focused on expanding referral networks and increasing patient volume within outpatient medical imaging services. The position involves building strong relationships with healthcare providers, conducting outreach, and supporting business growth in the outpatient healthcare community. This role is part of a mission-driven, non-profit, faith-based health system committed to transforming healthcare and providing care to all, especially those most in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and cultivate relationships with referring physicians, specialists, and their staff within outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, primary care practices, and other relevant healthcare providers.
  • Conduct regular in-person visits, presentations, and educational sessions to inform potential referrers about services, technology, and patient experience.
  • Develop and implement strategic outreach plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual referral targets.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for referring offices, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a seamless referral process.
  • Organize and participate in networking events, conferences, and community outreach programs to expand brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, competitive landscapes, and emerging trends in outpatient medical imaging.
  • Analyze referral patterns and identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
  • Develop and present compelling value propositions highlighting the benefits of partnering with imaging centers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support business development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and referral data in the CRM system.
  • Prepare reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and healthcare regulations relevant to outpatient services.
  • Educate referring providers and their staff on referral protocols and insurance requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED with 3 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience, or 7 years of applicable job-specific experience.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and planning abilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of outpatient healthcare ecosystem, including physician practices and referral networks, preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare marketing strategies preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound) preferred.
  • Existing network within the local outpatient healthcare community preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with medical imaging or diagnostic services in outpatient settings.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience with healthcare marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in healthcare sales, business development, or related roles preferred.
