Public Relations Coordinator

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Tell the stories of the startups at Capital Factory, including their beginnings, funding, and acquisitions.
• Write press releases to media outlets.
• Create and manage social media content, including taking photos and videos, and editing them.
• Develop personal relationships with local reporters and influencers in Texas.
• Attend pitch competitions, government roundtables, and SXSW to capture and share behind-the-scenes stories.
• Manage the CEO's social media presence on platforms such as X, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
• Execute social media deliverables for event sponsors and partners.
• Coordinate with other teams at Capital Factory to ensure consistency across all social media channels.
• Manage third-party video production teams.

Requirements

• Managed a social media account with more than 10,000 followers.
• Proficient with marketing tools including Hubspot, Wordpress, Canva, Asana, and Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Slides).
• Outgoing personality with strong communication skills and the ability to talk to just about anyone.
• Organized, able to plan ahead, and adaptable to last-minute changes.
• Available to work during evening events and weekends when deadlines require.
• Owns a reliable laptop and smartphone suitable for work.
• Plans to stay in Austin, Texas for at least two years.

Nice to Have

• Experience with social media management and content creation.
• Knowledge of the startup and venture capital ecosystem in Texas.
• Experience attending and covering events like SXSW.

Qualifications

• Experience managing social media accounts with significant followings
• Proficiency with marketing and productivity tools such as Hubspot, Wordpress, Canva, Asana, and Google Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
