QuickSight Business Intelligence Developer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Create datasets in Amazon Web Services (AWS) QuickSight and configure detailed dashboards.
• Collect and analyze data from various sources, including the data warehouse, using SQL and DQL queries to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to the report's purpose.
• Work on implementing proofs of concept using business intelligence and data visualization technologies and develop/enhance dashboards.
• Use appropriate data visualization techniques (graphs, charts, tables, etc.) to present complex information clearly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, department heads, and clients to understand reporting requirements and address questions or concerns.
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to reporting and analytics, applying new knowledge to improve processes.
• Monitor and update existing reports to ensure accuracy, relevance, and timeliness, modifying reports based on feedback and needs.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of report specifications, methodologies, and data sources, tracking revisions and updates.
• Continuously evaluate and improve reporting processes, methodologies, and tools, exploring automation opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
• Experience in writing complex SQL scripts using Trino, Presto, Postgres SQL, Oracle, AWS Redshift, or other relational databases.
• Strong SQL skills for analysis, validation, and verification of data.
• Familiarity with Agile methodology.
• Experience with task tracking and documentation tools such as Jira or Confluence.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information to stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 5+ years of related experience.

Nice to Have

• AWS Certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with AWS including RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, Lambda, Athena, S3, Glue or Lake Formation.
• Experience with Linux, Python, Git.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical training, certification(s), or degree.
• 5+ years of related experience.
